1. Why has Bright decided to discontinue Surf Payroll?

At Bright, our goal is to provide a suite of industry- leading software solutions, and to achieve this, we regularly review our products to ensure they align with our high standards and your evolving needs. As we focus on advancing our most impactful solutions, it has become necessary to streamline our product portfolio to focus our resources on the solutions that best meet the needs of our clients.
After careful review, we have concluded that BrightPay is the payroll solution best suited to meet our goals, and therefore, we have decided to discontinue Surf Payroll in order to focus all our efforts and resources into developing BrightPay into the best payroll solution on the market.

2. When is Surf Payroll being discontinued?

Surf Payroll will be discontinued on the 31st of December 2024.

3. What do I need to do before Surf Payroll is discontinued?

You need to find a different payroll provider for the 2025 tax year. We highly recommend switching
to the new cloud-based version of BrightPay, our multi-award-winning payroll solution. You also need to download/export your payroll data such as payslips, tax deduction cards and payroll reports and journals, to prevent any risk of data loss.

5. How do I import my data from Surf Payroll to BrightPay cloud?
