Who are we merging with?

Relate Software, a leader in post-accounting, practice management, and bookkeeping software, sold under the Relate and Surf brand. Relate are an Irish company based in Dublin. We believe Relate are a perfect complement to our product offering and are very excited about working with them to create a payroll and accounting offering across Ireland and the United Kingdom.


Why are we merging?

As a company, we are committed to continued growth and development across Ireland and the UK. By merging with Relate, we can plan to offer our growing customer base an integrated suite of cloud payroll and accounting software solutions.

As a combined business, with over 190 employees, we will bring together complementary products and strengths to create a leader in payroll and accounting software in Ireland. Together we will aim to provide a best-in-class software suite with a clear value proposition to drive efficiency, reduce errors, all with increased flexibility from a cloud offering.


Who will the CEO be?

Paul Byrne, co-founder and CEO of BrightPay, will very much be remaining at the helm. He will, however, now be co-CEO alongside Ray Rogers, co-founder and CEO of Relate. Ross Webster and Richie McMahon, also both co-founders of BrightPay and Relate, will continue to focus on developing the business’ best-in-class product suite.


Will any of Thesaurus / BrightPay products be discontinued?

We are very much committed to the continued development of all our products. We want to continue to service our customers with great software and fantastic customer service as we have for the last 30 years. 


Will you be making job cuts?

There will be absolutely no job cuts, all our employee’s jobs are secure. Each and every employee will remain an integral part of our service. There will be no changes to our support team, our staff will remain committed to supporting your queries as efficiently as possible.

As the business develops, we envisage further growth and ultimately recruitment opportunities.


Will the Thesaurus Software / BrightPay brand be changing?

We understand that for our customers, the Thesaurus Software / BrightPay brand is synonymous with quality and innovation. We are extremely proud that our company has grown to become such a reputable and well-known brand and we do not intend to change that. As we continue to grow and join forces with Relate, there will be potential to further expand and diversify our product suite in line with our existing company values.


Will the pricing change?

The intention is to maintain our tried and tested business model of providing software solutions at affordable pricing. Apart from normal scheduled pricing increases we foresee no additional changes. We will also continue to offer free phone and email support to our customers.


Can I avail of a discounted rate if I use multiple products?

The price of all products will remain the same. There will be no discounts for using multiple products at this time.


Will the Thesaurus / BrightPay customer support team be able to help with queries regarding Relate products?

Our customer support team will continue to help with questions about Thesaurus and BrightPay products. However, you will need to contact Relate directly for assistance with their product range.
